Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception for the 2015 Southeast Regional IDeA Meeting will be held at the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum, 115 1st Street, Biloxi, Miss.

 

Buses will be available from 5:15-9:00 p.m. to transport attendees round-trip between the Beau Rivage and the Museum. Please go to the bus lobby at the Beau Rivage (ground floor of the parking garage) in order to load the buses. Buses will continually travel between the Beau Rivage and the museum to allow attendees to come and go as they please.

 

Attendees will enjoy a “Shrimp Boil” themed reception complete with fresh shrimp and local favorites. Vegetarian and non-seafood options will be available.

The SE IDeA ’15 meeting will be on November 11-13, 2015. This year’s meeting will be held in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino. Prepare to enjoy scientific sessions in the largest resort in the Southeast to receive the AAA Four Diamond award. Conference attendees will have access to the wide range of dining, nightlife and spa services provided by the Beau Rivage.

 

On Wednesday, November 11, attendees are invited to attend a Welcome Reception at the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi, Miss. The mission of the museum is to preserve the maritime heritage of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It accomplishes this mission through an array of exhibits on shrimping, oystering, recreational fishing, wetlands, managing marine resources, charter boats, marine blacksmithing, wooden boat building, netmaking, catboats/Biloxi skiff, shrimp peeling machine and numerous historic photographs and objects. Guided tours and light refreshments will be provided. With average temperatures of 73°F in November, the weather will be perfect to enjoy some time on the beach which is directly outside the Beau Rivage. Be sure to pack your beach towel to enjoy the white sand beaches and breathtaking sunsets.

 

With 50,000 square feet of meeting space, this conference will provide something for every investigator and student. We hope to see you on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast in November 2015!
